Disaster centre set to alleviate hunger during lockdown

The Local Municipal Disaster Centre, and stakeholders like the Department of Social Development, SASSA and others in the Local Disaster Forum continue to assist in the alleviation of hunger during the lockdown period.

William Maphosa, the municipal spokesperson says the centre calls upon businesses and people to continue donating non-perishable foods.

“Food donations are received via the disaster centre and distributed according to the Department of Social Development and SASSA who have proved profiling system tools to trace, detect and care for the needy amongst our communities,” he stated.
