Superspar Potchefstroom has reopened for business this morning after it was closed on Saturday, 18 April.
According to Johan Britz, the owner of Superspar Potchefstroom, Die Bult, a health inspector from the Dr. Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality inspected the store on Saturday and instructed that the store be closed after the inspector found hot foods being sold at the store.
Britz says this was due to a misunderstanding and misinterpretation of the lockdown legislation.
Xolani Mndaweni, the Dr. Kenneth Kaunda District Municipality spokesperson confirms and says the owner has received the necessary permit to continue operating within the lockdown regulations.
Britz was told that the store was to close for 24 hours and will reopen on Sunday, 19 April at 13:00.
However, the store reopened on Monday, 20 April and will continue to operate from Mondays to Saturdays at 08:00-18:00 and on Sundays at 08:00-14:00.
