Organisations advocate for marginalised groups
Action for Social Justice International (Social Justice) and Bophirima VW Club stand against violence towards the LGBTIQ (lesbians, gays, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer) community.

Over the years, many have been killed or harmed because of their sexuality or gender identity. Action for Social Justice International (Social Justice) and Bophirima VW Club stand against violence towards the LGBTIQ (lesbians, gays, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer) community. They hosted an awareness campaign on Saturday, 31 October, also to celebrate Pride Month.
They embarked on a motorcade from the Promosa Cemetery through Aksie Park, extensions 6 and 7, through Sarafina, and concluded in Ikageng.

Thabiso Mogapi, the executive director of Social Justice, says they wanted to commemorate, celebrate and embrace diversity and the inclusion of the LGBTIQ society through the campaign.
Social Justice is an organisation that advocates for marginalised sexual minority groups by encouraging access to rights, equality and human dignity. Through the campaign, they wished to spread awareness among their communities.
“The campaign is about teaching, learning and raising community awareness on the LGBTIQ+ society.
“Our target is for the general community to learn about the rights of the LGBTIQ+ community and their existence within J.B. Marks Municipality,” says Thabiso.
He added that the campaign was all the more significant because they had received support from the Bophirima VW Club, stakeholders and other community members.
