J.B. Marks municipal worker electrocuted while fixing cables

This incident occurred around mid-day when Reni Seroalo and his team members were busy fixing an electricity supply line at Extension 11 in Ikageng.

A J.B Marks Municipality employee, Mr. Reni Seroalo, died yesterday (Wednesday, 19 January) after being electrocuted while on site.

Seroalo was a well-known employee in the electrical section within in the Technical and Services Department, This incident occurred around mid-day when Seroalo and his team members were busy fixing an electricity supply line at Extension 11 in Ikageng. Seroalo died on the scene.

“The Office of the Accounting Officer and a municipal delegation are currently at the family home. Details of how the accident happened are still being investigated and will be released at a later stage. JB Marks Local Municipality expresses its deep and heartfelt condolences to Mr. Seroalo’s family, relatives and friends.”

“We will await the family’s decision relating to the burial and will support and work closely with them,” said J.B. Marks spokesperson, Mr. William Maphosa in a statement.
