The road in Ross street in the industrial area is poorly maintained and members of the community are fed up.
Goitsene Mothoi, who works around the area, says he’s been using the road for as long as he can remember. “ I don’t understand why a small and busy road such as this one, isn’t getting any attention from the municipality,” he said.
“ Trucks use this road daily and are to blame for the damage, however, now isn’t the time to be pointing fingers but to try and find amicable solutions for this issue,” he added.
Goitsene added that when it rains he has to drive on the pavement to prevent his car from getting damaged any further. “ They say we can claim for any damage caused by potholes but even that is a headache on its own,” he lamented.

“ It’s simple, this entire situation could be avoided if the municipality would simply do their job and offer proper service delivery,” he added.
While the Herald was on-site to take pictures, Johannes Mathobeng, another resident who often uses the road, thought engineers were “ finally going to restore the road “.
Johannes says that even with his bicycle the road is very uncomfortable and it saddens him because he pays tax. “ The road has been damaged for quite some time but I can’t remember for how long exactly,” he said.
“ Every week it’s a different complaint regarding the municipality’s poor service delivery, this is unacceptable and we hope we will be heard soon,” he concluded. The Herald has asked a nearby business for comment but has not yet heard back. Once the municipality’s response is received, the comment will also be added.
