Planned water shutdown scheduled for Ikageng pump station

JB Marks plans water shutdown in Ikageng for valve replacement; residents urged to store water in advance.

The JB Marks Local Municipality has announced a planned water supply shutdown at the Ikageng Water Pump Station to allow for the replacement of dysfunctional valves.

According to municipal spokesperson Jeanette Tshite, the shutdown will take place on October 20, starting at 06:00 and continuing until late in the day.

The maintenance work will temporarily interrupt water supply to areas served by the Ikageng Pump Station, including Ikageng Proper (Old Ikageng) and Potch Industria.

“Residents are kindly advised to store enough water in advance for domestic use during the shutdown,” Tshite said.

The municipality apologized for the inconvenience and assured residents that the work forms part of ongoing efforts to improve the reliability and efficiency of water service delivery across the region.
