The JB Marks Local Municipality has confirmed that a mechanical and electrical breakdown occurred overnight at one of the main water supply pump stations serving the Ventersdorp Region.

According to municipal spokesperson Jeanette Tshite, the issue has affected Tshing and Ventersdorp Town, leaving residents in some areas without water since early Friday morning.

“The Municipal Technical Team has been attending to the matter since this morning,” Tshite said. “We are working diligently to restore the water supply as soon as possible.”

She added that updates on the progress and restoration timeline will be shared with the public as more information becomes available.

The municipality has apologized for the inconvenience caused by the unplanned disruption and urged residents to remain patient while repairs are being completed.
