Potch men ready to have a ball in purple speedos
This initiative that raises cancer awareness is a fun and interactive event that attracts men from all walks of life.
Expect a sea of purple speedos this Friday, 23 October, as the annual Hollard Daredevil Run takes place at Pad.langs Koffiestop on Modderdam Road in Potchefstroom to raise awareness of testicular and prostate cancer.
The local run that start at 16:00 forms part of a nationwide initiative that will see men from all walks of life take part in a 5 km run for a good cause.

Traditionally, participants run in nothing but purple speedos and running shoes, often sporting catchy slogans to add to the fun.
Now in its 17th year, the proudly South African campaign uses humour and the eye-catching sight of men running in purple speedos to encourage conversations about men’s health, cancer awareness and the importance of early detection.
Beyond the spectacle, the event aims to challenge stigmas surrounding testicular and prostate cancer while raising funds for the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) and the Prostate Cancer Foundation of South Africa. The funds support education, screening programmes and services for men.
The public is encouraged to join the movement, get active and support the cause.
