Swanepoel has used all the empty bags of dog food to create a stunning ‘Christmas tree’ for their shelter. She will be attaching cans to the tree to urge people to donate any amount of money into these cans.

“We have regular meetings on Mondays, just to find out if everything is fine in the kennels and then we were talking about fundraising, so the idea to make a tree came up. We are going to put money tins on the tree so we can try and raise some funds,” said Swanepoel.

After they used the food that has been donated to them from their regular donors, they decided to use the empty bags for the tree. “Anything that we used, we kept the bags aside,” added Swanepoel.

“Please come and donate money to us, it is always, always needed. It’s all for the animals.”
