Little stars go super nova
All 410 junior primary pupils of Trinityhouse Preparatory School, Randpark Ridge took to the stage to showcase their talents in the play The Granny Awards.
Adapted from Janet Gardener’s original script, the play took the audience along the red carpet and into a prestigious awards ceremony in honour of Granny, played by Megan Grobler, who after 80 years in showbiz was retiring from the industry.
The evening was expertly hosted by Prof, played by Philip Orlando, one of Snow White’s helpers.
His quick wit and ability to ad-lib had the audience rolling in the isles with laughter as he presented a whole host of fairy tale characters with their much coveted awards while Bianca Dunkley, as the Big Bad Wolf, attempted to steal one.
With this as the framework for the show, Trinityhouse staff was able to give every child the chance to perform and shine on stage, dressed up to the nines for the occasion.
Some children demonstrated their musical talents by playing instruments such as the cello, harp, violin, djembe drums, marimbas, guitars or percussion instruments. Other children recited poems, presented adverts, sang or danced which contributed to an outstanding evening.
