I am also a pastor, and I found the exhibition to be tasteful, deeply respectful, and educational. Even the display of a copulating couple is, in my opinion, entirely non-pornographic.
I have also watched von Hagen demonstrate dissection of human cadavers to instruct students in anatomy – though he professes no religious convictions, he treats the bodies with the utmost respect, both in word and action.
There is no evidence that any of the bodies he has used come from executed Chinese criminals (or are of Chinese origin), all were donated by the person or families of the person concerned, and the fact that his father was a cook in the SS at age 25 is irrelevant.
Dissections of dead humans take place all the time – in postmortems and medical schools around the world.
Granted von Hagens’ bodies are preserved for public display, but the value he has brought to thousands of us who do not have the privilege of studying medicine is immense.
Though Pastor Cantrell is entitled to his opinion, it certainly does not represent a broad spectrum of Christian perspective, other than that we all agree that the dead should be shown respect.
