Company cycles to save a child
Ace Packaging is giving back to an organisation close to their heart.

Ace Packaging commited to ride the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge in aid of Save a Child, a charity organisation aimed at assisting disabled childrens.
The company’s Rosalin Steenkamp said, “We are a distribution company which distributes plastic bags, and all other packaging needs to the Spar and Pick n Pay groups in and around the country. We asked our suppliers if they wanted to cycle with our team of cyclists and received donations from them as well. We have 10 riders from our company and around 12 suppliers that are also riding.”
Steenkamp said the company chose to donate money specifically to Save a Child because of a staff member who’s child was helped by the organisation. “We called the organisation and asked how we could help and they told us they would gladly welcome any form of help. We have so far raised R70 000 and hope to raise more than R100 000 before handing over the cheque to Save a Child on 15 November,” explained Steenkamp.
Another employee who had been helped by Save a Child, Jacques Delbort said, “This is a big thing for us. I have a child who was helped by Save a Child. I am pleased to be helping them this time. They have supported my family for a long time. I feel really good about this.” Vice-chairman of Save a Child George Horne said, “We are very happy that we have been chosen. I am looking forward to the event.”
