Outreach in Zandspruit feeds hundreds of mouths
Religious groups spread love and care on the soil of Zandspruit.

Recently about 450 mouths were fed in the Mbele settlement in Zandspruit thanks to a joint outreach project initiated by the religious non-profit organisation 1in1out.
Stephan Thomas from 1in1out explained that religious outreach groups Hands of Compassion of Rhema, a Catholic cell group in Robertsham, and Destiny Fellowship joined forces with 1in1out. “It is exciting to know churches are joining the war against poverty,” Thomas said.
Thomas said the experience in Zandspruit reminded him of Matthew 25: 35 to 40. “The message in this scripture is for us to feed the hungry, clothe the needy, visit the sick and those in prison,” Thomas explained. “God said if you do this for any of these you have done it for Him. Problems become opportunities when the right people join together.” Thomas was saddened by the dire conditions people live in.
“The people from Young Life, a religious group from the United Kingdom, were shocked as they accompanied our volunteers from shack to shack. We had to walk in the mud and filth after the torrential rain.” “Our volunteers went from house to house and gave about 100 families a clothing hamper. The gospel band Destiny Music provided music and a power message of hope was delivered by Pastors Adrian and Keke,” Thomas explained, while commenting on the tremondous happiness he felt upon seeing the many smiles of Mbele residents. “The kids were delighted with the face painting by our talented Tamar.
Everyone ate a delicious warm meal and cannot wait for our Christmas programmes that will start at the end of November.” Thomas called out to churches and companies that are willing to contribute.
