Martin House wins narrow athletics victory at Rand Park High interhouse athletics meet

Martin House won Rand Park High School's interhouse athletics meeting by just two points, beating Bishop House in one of the closest finishes in years.

Rand Park High School’s annual interhouse athletics meeting delivered an exciting day of competition, sportsmanship, and school spirit, with Martin House emerging as champions by the slimmest of margins.

In one of the closest contests in recent years, Martin House secured the championship trophy with 538 points, finishing just two points ahead of Bishop House on 536 points.

Lourie House claimed third place with 480 points, while Shrike House finished fourth on 314 points.

The event showcased the school’s athletic talent across sprints, middle distances, and relay races, with learners showing determination, resilience, and teamwork throughout the day.

Thrilling races and enthusiastic support from learners and staff from all four houses made the day memorable.

While Martin House celebrated the overall title, Shrike House earned well-deserved recognition for its outstanding enthusiasm, war cries, and support by winning the coveted Spirit Trophy.

Outstanding individual performances were also recognised at the prize giving ceremony. The Junior Victor Ludorum award was presented to Aaryan Naidoo, while Madison Peebles was named Junior Victrix Ludorum.

In the senior division, Mohammed Butler received the Senior Victor Ludorum award, and the Senior Victrix Ludorum title was shared by Isa Sigola and Cassidy Nel, in recognition of their exceptional performances.
