Brave women tell their stories

Brave Miss World premiered at the Fourways Ster-Kenikor, and left the audience motivated and aware of the effects of rape.

The Brave Miss World documentary premiered at Ster-Kinekor in Fourways.

The documentary highlights the life of former Miss Israel and Miss World 1998, Linor Abargil. Abargil was raped seven weeks prior to her being crowned as Miss World. It tells the tale of her traumatic experience and the lengths she went to in bringing her rapist to justice.

Private company, Transform, Educate About Rape and Sexual Abuse (Tears) organised the event supported by egg processing company EggTech.

Tears and EggTech invited Randburg resident and rape survivor Karen Howell to the premier where she shared her chilling tale.

“I am honoured to have been invited to the event,” said Howell. “I pray and hope those who were listening took something from my talk.” She is looking forward to giving more motivational talks in the near future and to expanding her campaign, Enough is Enough, to fight human trafficking, abuse and crime.
