While Fairland High School has lost a principal, the North Riding Secondary School has gained one.
Dr Francois Oosthuizen was principal of Fairland High School for six years and has been appointed as the caretaker principal of North Riding Secondary School which is to open next year. A community meeting was held to introduce Oosthuizen, and in the meantime he is helping with the appointment of teachers.
Ward 115 councillor Chris Santana said he was pleased to have Oosthuizen on board. ”The school still has plenty of work to do before opening,” he said. “The Gauteng Department of Education had to postpone the launch date of the school because of a few construction errors which the Department of Infrastructure is currently attending to.”
