Roads agency fails Bloubosrand
Ward councillor is furious with the Johannesburg Roads Agency.
Potholes on Agulhas Road, Reiger Avenue and Oosterland Avenue in Bloubosrand have Ward 96 councillor Matome Mafokwane pleading with the Johannesburg Roads Agency to do its job.
Mafokwane said he spoke to the roads agency to have the roads redone in November last year.
“The roads agency failed to respond to my call for help,” he said. “Their excuse was that it was close to the holidays, therefore the majority of their staff were on leave. I found that to be a lazy excuse.”
The councillor was disappointed with the lack of urgency. “The residents deserve better roads, the roads agency needs to get it fixed. I cannot be defending the city council. The roads agency needs to implement their services.”
The roads agency had not commented by the time of going to press.
Details: Ward 96 councillor Matome Mafokwane 084 854 4950, Johannesburg Roads Agency 011 298 5001.
