Myschool gives back

Myschool, Woolworths and 94.7 Highveld Stereo, school materials to the Kingsway Christian School.

The Kingsway Christian School in Randpark Ridge received a much-needed donation of school supplies.

The Back to School campaign, initiated by the Woolworths MySchool project and 94.7 Highveld Stereo Ground Patrol, is aimed at helping parents and schools with the cost of supplies.

“Pupils received a lunch box, stationery to the value of R3 600 and library books to the value of R3 000,” said Jackie Busch, public relations director of Liquidlingo Communications, a company handling media related matters of the campaign.

According to Busch five schools were visited each day from 3 February to 7 February. ”The beginning of a school year is a difficult time for many parents associated with the financial challenges of uniforms, stationery and books,” she said. “The Back to School campaign hopes to bring some relief to under-resourced schools where many pupils come to school hungry and don’t have access to the stationery they need at the beginning of each year.”

Busch added that South Africans who would like to continue supporting these schools throughout the year could sign up for a MySchool card and nominate any school as a beneficiary.
