Children with cancer receive boost

RANDPARK – R25 000 given towards a fun camp for children with cancer.

Randpark Golf Club handed over a cheque worth R25 000 to Rotary Northcliff to go towards a project that provides fun activities at a camp for children with cancer.

Craig Macleod, the club’s captain and Doug Bain the club’s CEO gave the cheque on 13 March to Rotary Northcliff representatives John Turner and Ian Goldsmith to help fund Camp Quality. The Camp Quality is a project in Lowveld, Mpumalanga, featuring week long camps held for children aged between eight and 15 who have or have had cancer. This project was started by the Nelspruit Rotary Club in 1987.

The Camp Quality provides children with different activities which include taking them on flights in light aircraft and helicopters, to the cinemas, to play with elephants, clown entertainment, by clowns and providing refreshments and rides on motorcycles.
