Housebreakers sentenced

DARRENWOOD – Two men receive seven and three years respectively.

Sfiso Njilo (26) and Bulelani Sehane (18) recently pleaded guilty to charges of housebreaking at the Randburg Magistrate’s Court, and were sentenced to seven and three years in prison, respectively.

The accused were found guilty of breaking into a house in Darenwood in March, where they stole a pistol, sleeping bag, and a TV, and attempted to push their loot away in a dustbin.

When Linden police saw them on Garrick Road, and thought they looked suspicious, they stopped to search them.

Then, when a man, who was driving past stopped and identified the dustbin as his, having recognised the house number on the dustbin, one of the men fled on foot.

The police apprehended the men, recovered the stolen items, and attended court proceedings until the recent sentencing.
