Bordeaux Primary chess team winners

BORDEAUX – Bordeaux Primary School chess team,won medals and gigantic trophy for their brilliant cognitive tactical excellence.

The Bordeaux Primary School U11 chess team participated in the Johannesburg North West Chess Tournament which was held at Maragon Private Schools.

This year, 91 teams entered the league and the total overall number of players were 756 in the different categories.

U11 chess team coach Alfred Machingambi said ,“this year it was absolutely amazing as the team brought medals alongside a gigantic trophy for their brilliant cognitive tactical excellence. As a chess coach and also trainer as well as an educator I always strive to lure and encourage children to be involved in chess from a tender age so that they can have fun, benefit logically and cognitively.”

Bordeaux Primary chess team was awarded a trophy for tactical excellence.

He appealed to all schools to consider chess, and if any help is required, they can contact Gerhardus van Deventer, president of Johannesburg North West Chess.

Machingambi concluded by saying he wishes chess could be considered in each and every school in the world.
