What a waste of time

NORTHGATE – People at the bank apparently know nothing about smart ID cards.

I did today [ 1 April].

Being a conscientious citizen, I went to my ‘friendly’ bank, at the Northgate branch to request the application forms in order to apply for my Smart ID.

Well, I waited in line for about 15 minutes (not too long I suppose), mind you they are undergoing refurbishment at the moment so we were surrounded by ladders, drills, cables, dust, etc., seemed more like a building site although they did not issue us with hard hats!!!!!

Anyway I went to the ‘enquiries’ to ask for the application forms and was looked at like I was speaking “Martian”.

Anyway the person called for a supervisor and asked her, with a wave of the hands and, a condescending look was told quite emphatically “we don’t do that here, we know nothing about it.”

Anyway it was a good waste of time and also a waste of petrol.

Guess I won’t be so conscientious next time, I’ll probably keep the ID book I’ve had for many, many years.

Mind you, it is April Fools today, I guess you got me good and proper.
