Join Ann Harding Cheshire Homes 5-a-side soccer tournament
NORTHWOLD – Join a 5-a-side tournament to help fund Ann Harding Cheshire Homes.
The Ann Harding Cheshire Home 5-a-side Indoor Soccer Tournament calls for teams to enter for the games on 1 May at the Old Parktonian Sports Club.
Share a game of football with your friends and help a truly worthwhile cause.
Tom Sundawo, a resident at Anne Harding Cheshire home, is the brainchild of this project. Sundawo was a restaurant manager at the Dros. In 2007 the restaurant faced an armed robbery. During this terrible incident, Sundawo was shot in the head. The bullet damaged the motor neutron part of his brain. He is now unable to move half of his body. When he found himself in need of funds to help him pay for boarding at the home, Sundawo’s friends came up with a brilliant idea.
The tournament will be 16 teams playing a round robin of 5-a-side indoor soccer. Sundawo now uses the event to raise funds for the entire home. They really need sponsors to help fund the tournament as well as prizes for the winners.
This is the third annual tournament and last year it collected about R28 000 for the home. “I hope this year brings a lot more people to the event to help raise more money,” said Sundawo. He would also love to have some celebrities at the event to help draw more attention and foot traffic to the event.
The day promises to have lots of food and drink on sale as well as an exciting raffle for a hamper of Geldenhof chocolates. It will cost R120 per player and
pre-registration is a must. Log on to www.5asidefund.co.za to fill in the registration form.
