Holiday programme discusses drugs

WINDSOR EAST – A school holiday program will be held at the Windsor East Recreation Centre to create awareness about substance abuse in July.

Youth in Windsor East can learn about drugs in a safe environment these holidays.

This because the City of Johannesburg (COJ) and The Gauteng Department of Social Development has partnered with the Windsor Local Drug Action Committee (LDAC) to host a School Holiday Programme planning meeting at the Windsor East Recreation Centre on 19 June.

LDAC secretary Gathel Moyo, explained that the purpose of the meeting is to promote awareness on substance abuse. “This will be done by involving the external stakeholders to assist in bringing and sharing ideas on how to motivate the children about the matter around substance abuse as well as how to sustain the programme,” said Moyo.

The Programme is scheduled to take place on 1, 8 and 15 July at Windsor East Recreation Centre.

Details: Gathel Moyo 083 587 3965.
