Festive shoppers browse traditional stalls and sample homemade treats at a local church's annual holiday fair.
Residents of Randburg gathered in large numbers for their annual early Christmas shopping tradition at NG Kerk Randburg.
The fun-filled day offered residents a variety of stalls to choose from as they scouted for possible Christmas presents for their loved ones. They also enjoyed cake sales, competitions and a variety of Afrikaans cuisine, ranging from pannekoek to curry and rice, accompanied by live band performances by Loslit Dansorkes.

“Watching everyone come together and unite is always so heartwarming. It encourages everyone to get involved and support each other in the community. It reminds us how important community truly is. I wish for the community to experience a blessed Christmas, experience the good from God’s hand which we all know can never amount to or fit in a package being sold here today,” Nickols said.
Arts and crafts
Among the various stalls, Clariska Esterhuizen and Yolandi Ferreira provided a variety of arts and crafts gifts for both children and parents. They participated in a raffle and won.

“It was so fun winning. I enjoy taking extra things back home from the market. My Christmas wish for the community is for them to be kind, man. The world is already tough as it is – it doesn’t take much to be kind,” Esterhuizen said.
