Ry-Ma-In chairperson resigns

LINDEN – Ry-Ma-In chairperson Aaron Mupeti resigns after his fruitful contributions to the home.

Ry-Ma-In, the home for quadriplegics and paraplegics based in Linden, bids farewell to its chairperson.

Aaron Mupeti is stepping down after helping Ry-Ma-In through difficult times.

Mupeti was appointed chairperson in July 2014 and with his legal background and vibrant spirit he took up the challenge with the help of his team.

According to members of the home, during Mupeti’s leadership, the sales of the shop and the recycling picked up.

“Ry-Ma-In’s premises changed to look clean and neat, residents became more interested in helping with the daily tasks. The public saw more of the residents reaching out and talking to them,” said the members.

One of the successful projects that Mupeti led was an initiative called Ry-Ma-In Friendship Card with which people sign a monthly debit order and acquire certain benefits which range from discount on movie tickets, airfare, education and free roadside assistance.

“I have enjoyed chairing Ry-Ma-In and, of course I am here to assist, but I have enrolled for a master’s in law and chairing Ry-Ma-In, together with a full-time job, it is just a bit too much,” he said.

“I wish to thank my team, also the public and our faithful friends – we cannot do without your contributions, support, love and friendship –we still need you,” he concluded.
