Landlord caught for raping two-year-old girl

KENSINGTON B – Landlord will appear in Randburg Magistrates’ Court for rape.

A 63-year-old landlord was caught in Diepsloot Extension Seven for an alleged rape of a two-year-old girl on 16 November.

According to Diepsloot SAPS spokesperson Warrant Officer Daniel Mavimbela, the girl was wearing t-shirt and underwear.

“She went out of her mother’s sight for about only half an hour. On her return, she reportedly drew her mother’s attention by pointing at her own crotch,” said WO Mavimbela. The underwear was missing. Her mother noticed a substance that resembled semen.

When the little girl was asked about the substance as noticed by the mother, she reportedly pointed at the landlord.

The suspect was arrested after the police was notified.

The suspect will be charged with rape.

He is expected to appear in the Randburg Magistrate’s Court soon.

The police are appealing to parents and caregivers that smaller children must always be kept within sight whenever they are not confined to safe and secure spaces.
