Traffic intersection a nightmare during peak hours
COSMO CITY – JRA to put up robots on Boundary and Aureole intersection soon.
The Boundary Road and Aureole Avenue intersection in Cosmo City has been causing many delays for some months now.
Traffic light poles were set up at the intersections more than five months ago but the traffic lights are yet to be installed. The intersection causes chaos and a great deal of traffic during peak hours. Some drivers use the pavement and make it very dangerous for the pedestrians and other motorists.
Even though JMPD are present on some mornings, they are not consistent. Taxis and other cars drive onto oncoming traffic, putting other motorists at risk.
Johannesburg Roads Agency spokesperson Bertha Peters-Scheepers commented, “We sincerely apologise for the delay in connecting the traffic lights at Boundary and Aureole. Power connectivity has been arranged and JRA will ensure the intersection will be fully operational shortly. We thank the community for their patience while this matter is being attended to.”
