Worst accidents of 2015
RANDBURG – A roundup of some of the accidents in the Roodeport area for 2015.
We have seen yet another year of horrific car accidents around the Randburg area. The department of transport said drunk driving remains one of the main contributing factors to crashes. Department of Transport Minister Dipuo Peters said new road fatality statistics have shown 80 percent of the deaths on the country’s roads comprise of adults and males between the ages of 19 and 34. Here are some of the articles of road accidents that happened this year in the Randburg area in 2015.
Two people were seriously injured in an accident on Robyn Street, Jukskei Park on 2 February. Rescue units and other services arrived at the scene and found crumpled remains of a motor vehicle lodged against a tree.
Four people were injured during an accident on the corner of Rabie Street and Annie Road in Fontainebleau on 17 February. Paramedics and other emergency services arrived at the scene and found that two vehicles were involved and that one of the vehicles overturned as a result of the impact.

A five vehicle accident occurred on the N1 South near William Nicol on 13 March. The driver of one vehicles was flung out of the vehicle and then other cars drove over him.
Two vehicles collided on the corner of Kent Avenue and Harley Street on 25 March as a result of a faulty traffic light.
One motorist’s attempt to skip a red light, ended up with a car accident on Beyers Naudé Drive and John Vorster Road on 17 April.
A Randburg Police officer was injured in a car accident involving three vehicles on the corner of Beyers Naudé and CR Swart drives, Randpark Ridge, on 26 May.
A woman tragically died in a motor vehicle accident on Witkoppen Road near Waterford Drive in Juskei Park on 4 June. Paramedics found the lifeless body of a woman pinned underneath the vehicle.

A man was killed and three others were injured in a car accident on the R512, Lanseria, on the evening of 6 July. Paramedics arrived on the scene where they found the mangled wreck of the car.
Three people were injured in an accident involving four vehicles on the N1 Highway on the morning of 10 October. One patient lay trapped inside his vehicle in a moderate condition.
A woman died after two vehicles collided in Olivedale on 17 October. According to an eyewitness, the woman was driving along Windsor Way, towards Bellairs Drive, while the other motorist was driving along Bellairs Drive, when both cars collided.
Two people were left injured on 29 October, leaving one in a critical condition, after a vehicle rolled several times off the R512 past Lanseria, North of Johannesburg. Paramedics arrived at the scene and found a light motor vehicle sitting upright, toward the far left-side of the road, and two victims lay about 30m away.
