Joburg Water warns residents of Fountainebleau, Malanshof and Ruiterhof that there will be planned water interruptions on 10 March for maintenance purposes.
All streets will be affected in the above-mentioned areas from 8am to 6pm. The water will be restored between 6pm and 9pm. The reason for the interruption is due to a tie-in of a new 160 mm u-PVC pipe on the old 150 mm pipe.
Residents in the affected areas are reminded that they are under level two water restrictions, which means residents should not water their gardens, fill their swimming pools with municipal water, or use hosepipes to wash their cars between 6am and 6pm everyday.
Joburg Water urges residents to stay active partners in reducing the amount of water used in the City of Johannesburg by reporting vandalism and theft of water infrastructure to 080 000 2587.
Water saving tips provided by Joburg Water included:
- Do not leave taps dripping
- Take shallow baths
- Use bath water or greywater to water the garden.
Residents can subscribe on the Joburg Water website to a notification service that alerts residents of any planned or unplanned service interruptions.
