Police officers have arrested three suspects who were allegedly involved in a hit-and-run incident in Ferndale and an armed robbery in Fontainebleau on 9 October.
Linden Police Station spokesperson, Captain Walter Spencer alleged that the three men made a false statement about the hijacking and added that although they made a distorted complaint, they were identified, as their victims saw them during the incidents. “They were arrested by the task team; the hijack case was false and now they have an additional perjury case,” he said.
The three men are said to have used the taxi as a getaway vehicle after allegedly robbing a customer at the Alvee Supermarket in Rabie Street before they ploughed into four pedestrians in a hit-and-run collision. He concluded the three suspects were expected to appear in the magistrates’ court soon.
