Linden police celebrate robbers’ conviction

BLAIRGOWRIE – Linden police celebrate a 20-year conviction after a year-long court case for armed robbery.

Two men, aged 24 and 29, were sentenced to 20 years behind bars on 27 July after committing an armed robbery last year.

Justice finally prevailed for the victim who was attacked on his driveway by two armed men on 23 March last year. The suspects forced the victim into his home where they tied him up, along with his wife.

The men then stole items such as jewellery, money, firearms and small electronic items before leaving on foot with suitcases stashed with their loot.

ADT security officers were on patrol and managed to spot the robbers walking on the street. Quick thinking from the officers resulted in Linden Police Station’s sector patrol vehicle being called to assist.

The men were arrested and the stolen items recovered.

Detective Warrant Officer Anton Seeber from the police station worked tirelessly to make sure that the State had enough evidence to successfully prosecute.
