A man (26) from Diepsloot will spend 12 years in jail after he raped a 13-year-old.
Vusi Abel Malaza was sentenced in the Randburg Magistrates’ Court on 11 December on charges of rape and kidnapping.
Malaza kidnapped the young girl when he found her in the street in Diepsloot. He forced her into a toilet and raped her.
Magistrate Lebogang Leshaba sentenced Malaza to two years imprisonment for the kidnapping and 10 years for the rape. The sentences will run consecutively.
Leshaba also ordered that Malaza’s particulars be included on the national register of sex offenders and that he is unsuitable to work with children.
