Tough skin, soft hearts

RANDPARK RIDGE – The 45's Motorcycle Crew rode from Brakpan to Randpark Ridge to support a children's orphanage.

Orphans from Mother’s Nest were treated to a delicious meal thanks to the kindness of strangers.

The Lone Wolf Spur sponsored a destination for bikers from 45’s Motorcycle Crew Rode to have lunch with the children after their charity ride from the East Rand. According to the owner of the biker’s club, Wayne Coleman, this is an event close to their hearts.

Guy Mylchreest of the 45’s Motorcycle Club parks his bike at the Lone Wolf Spur in Randpark Ridge.

Coleman said, “We do whatever we can for charities that we can help and support, giving back to the community is something very important to us.”

The 45’s Motorcycle Crew rode from Brakpan to Randpark Ridge to support their chosen children’s orphanage.

The riders also collected toys for the children and a few lucky children got to ride with the 45’s from Brakpan on a slow and safe ride to the Spur in Randpark Ridge.

The motorcycle club chose to adopt Mother’s Nest, an orphanage in Brakpan, to provide their constant support to.

Guy Mylchreest’s tough exterior may be deceiving as he really cares about his community and the children in it.

“As the 45’s Motorcycle Crew, we want to give back to the community… The kids enjoyed themselves and they felt like they were royalty when traffic was stopped for them,” said Guy Mylchreest, president of the 45’s Motorcycle Crew.

Mylchreest said, “The ride today is a testament to how the lord works… Mother’s Nest actually ran out of food on Friday and this ride was all to raise funds for them to buy more supplies.”

According to Mylchreest, the orphanage does not get the proper amount of support needed.

“We want to grow events like this and continue it on a regular basis to help support these kids in need.”

The 45’s are based in Alberton, but are planning to do more charity rides like this across Johannesburg with greater support from the biking community.
