Rand Park High School crowned its 2018 Mr and Miss Grade 8 after their inaugural school social on 10 February.
Grade 8s Jessi Brown and Rhys Meyer were the stars of the night after a vote for the title.

As part of their induction into the school, the Grade 8 social served to help the kids get to know each other a bit better and have some fun at the same time.
The school hall was decorated in carnival garb, with popcorn and Slush Puppies to welcome the excited tweens in.
The event was organised by a team of moms, who also helped to secure various sponsors for the event.
‘Mom squad’ member, Sandy Goncalves said, “The mom squad has been building up to this event for about two weeks now, and it took ages to prepare.
“We are so happy to see the kids enjoying themselves.”

The kids were encouraged to dress up as fabulously as possible to stand a chance to win some exciting prizes.
Local sponsors from the Randpark and Boskruin communities helped to support the event by donating food, drinks, decorations and prizes.
Goncalves added, “The community has been so supportive and we would like to give them a big word of thanks.”

Goncalves would like to thank the following local sponsors for their support:
