Jess celebrates 107 wonderful years
BROMHOF – Jess Crewe-Brown rings in her 107th birthday surrounded by people who celebrate her life.
What does local resident, Jess Crewe-Brown have in common with the first seaplane created and the first automobile electrical ignition system invented?
Well, they are all 107 years old this year.
Surrounded by family and close friends at Village of Golden Harvest II, Jess celebrated her 107th year on this earth with those who admire and love her.
She has thus far managed to see many world changes and technological advances that in her youth were not even thought of.
Jess’s daughter, Heather Crewe-Brown said she was privileged to celebrate this day with her mother. Having her mother be a part of her life for so long is something she is extremely grateful for.
“I am thrilled that she is still here today, as it is an age where people do not live for such long years,” she said.
Heather added they are not a really big family, as Jess has three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
“My parents were always keen for education in the family and that their children should be well educated was more important to mother than having a large family,” said Heather. Adding that the two together would prove to be difficult unless you were from a wealthy family.
Right now, Jess needs a lot of rest and for her to be careful when it comes to her fragile skin,
“As she has grown older, her skin has become more fragile and is easily damaged. She also worries about things and gets very anxious as her hearing and her memory are not what they used to be,” said Heather jokingly and added that people all have memory lapses here and there.
Even though, going through all her challenges, Jess is still strong and positive.
