Your complaints wont fall on deaf ears

HONEYDEW – There is a number you can call to complain about the police.

Honeydew Police Station has now made it possible for the community to complain about poor service received at the station.

With just a simple phone call, one can complain not only about service rendered but also about officers.

Duty officers, who will rotate weekly, will be tasked to handle the complaints from the community.

According to spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan, this will allow complaints to be processed faster and escalated to the relevant departments to be resolved.

“Certain complaints don’t reach us but this way will allow us to handle issues head-on,” said Muthan. “If a complaint is against an officer, they will know about the complaint and then it will be rolled down to management where they will investigate the incident in question.”

The complaints number to contact is 082 461 5943 and will be operational 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

For more information contact Honeydew Police Station on 011 801 8400.
