LYME PARK – St Stithians Boys' College celebrated a 100 per cent pass rate for their youngsters.
One hundred and fifty youngsters from the St Stithians Boys’ College made their way to their school to collect their matric results on 3 January.
The Independent Examinations Board, or IEB, released their matric results to thousands of eagerly awaiting learners across the country during the early hours of the morning.
The Boys’ College managed to achieve a perfect pass rate of 100 per cent, with 144 learners qualifying for a bachelor’s degree.
The boys also managed to amass a collective 316 distinctions amongst them, with an average of 2.11 distinctions per candidate.
Learners who achieved the school’s full academic honours, or summa cum laude with an average of 90 per cent or above, include:
- Jason Brown
- Kylen Govender
- Ijaz Mohamed
- Nicholas Rogers
- Lukas van der Merwe
Jason Brown was also placed on the IEB’s list for Commendable Achievement.
Head of the St Stithians Boys’ College David du Toit said, “The St Stithians matric achievements are the collective indicator of academic excellence, the intersection of personal goals and the standards of the IEB. We are proud of our cohort of top academic achievers, who shine strongly among the best in the country and whose results are documented individually. We salute, too, each of our students who have excelled against personal benchmarks – a less public achievement, but one that is highly valued and appreciated.
“Matric is the destination of an unfolding process of learning. We acknowledge the contributions of the teachers at the Preparatory Schools of St Stithians College, as well as those of other Primary Schools which educated this year’s matric cohort. We pay tribute to the impact of Kamoka Bush School on the lives of students.
“We wish all our matriculants a fulfilling new phase of their lives and we encourage them, one and all, to stay connected with St Stithians into the future. We look forward to staying in touch with our new alumni.”
