A coffee shop for the community

NORTHWOLD – The Ann Harding Cheshire Home recently opened their new coffee shop, Annie's Place.

The Ann Harding Cheshire Home invites you to come and share a ‘cup-of-joe’ at their recently opened coffee shop Annie’s Place.

Beautifully decorated with generously donated furnishings, the coffee shop seeks to be the local go-to place for hot beverages, biscuits and cake in the heart of the Boskruin community.

Its name, ‘Annie’s Place’, pays homage to the Ann Harding Cheshire Home that it is situated in.

Long-time volunteer at the home Lorraine Tebbutt said, “We opened last Tuesday, and so far, we have had an excellent turnout. Every single item of furniture and decoration has been donated by the public and restored, and we believe that it looks stunning. Even smaller items like cups and cutlery have been donated. I have to thank everyone who contributed.”

The coffee shop’s manager Stephen Hall added, “The coffee shop also provides an alternative for our residents to enjoy some time away from the canteen and is a lovely space to spend some time with visiting loved ones. We have special pricing for residents making it very affordable for them.”

At the coffee shop, Tebbutt aims to raise extra funds for the home by hosting various entertainment evenings with live music and performers, as well as competitions and auctions for donated products such as art and furniture.

“We recently had a music night that was lovely, and it was great to see residents, visitors and staff enjoying an absolute blast of an evening. We also held a painting party on Saturday, which was awesome fun,” said Hall.

The home’s shop has been running for a number of years and still continues to generate extra income for the home’s running expenses by selling donated items from the community. Tebbutt sees the coffee shop as an extension of this and hopes that it will become just as popular.

“For me, this is the community’s coffee shop, and the community needs to visit us to see what has been accomplished. We invite people to come and feel at home, and it will be great for them to interact with our residents too,” added Tebbutt.

The coffee shop plans to expand their offering by adding a deli in the near future.

The shop invites the community to an evening of unplugged music with plenty of food and drinks on sale on 24 April from 7pm until 9pm.
