Rand Park High School is mourning the loss of youngster Reamohetsoe Nyati.
Affectionately dubbed ‘Rea’, he passed away on 1 March after battling with a brief but severe illness.
School principal Alan Wilke said that Nyati joined the school in 2019 as a Grade 8 learner. “He was a popular young man and quickly made close friendships with his classmates and rugby teammates. He was quick to smile and to encourage others, and his educators described him as a respectful, yet, lively and eager participant in the classroom with a naturally competitive spirit and zest for life.”
He said that Nyati loved his school and will be remembered for his support of all the rugby teams.
He was known for running alongside the field shouting words of encouragement and celebrating every try.
“We are deeply saddened by Rea’s untimely passing and give thanks for his life and for his contribution to the school. Our deepest sympathies and prayers go out to his mom, Pumela, and his family, on behalf of every staff member and learner at Rand Park High School,” concluded Wilke.
