Trinityhouse names their leaders among leaders

RANDPARK RIDGE – Trinityhouse Preparatory in Randpark Ridge new prefects recall the moments before their names were called out.

Trinityhouse Preparatory in Randpark Ridge has chosen their leaders among leaders for this year. The exuberant group of Grade 7 learners were happy to assume their positions and were grateful to be chosen to represent their school in this way. The leaders recalled their journey to their positions.

The four were chosen from a group of 40 prefects elected at the end of their Grade 6 year, which consisted of 17 boys and 23 girls. Cara Kruger (deputy head girl), Ethan Steyn (deputy head boy), Jared Montjoie (head boy) and Kiera Glehill (head girl) all agreed that since they were elected, they have grown in confidence within their positions. There was also a group consensus that they would like to be ‘full of their positions as opposed to themselves’.

On the day of the announcement, the fantastic four recalled the moment before their parents made their way to the stage from the gallery of the Trinityhouse school hall to ‘badge them’. This tradition stood out for them, as they experienced the magnitude of the moment.

“My sister did my hair in a French braid because my mom likes it when my hair is in a French braid because it’s neat. I didn’t like my hair… that day because it so asked her to take it out and she was like no!” Cara recalls laughingly.

“I went to early morning tennis practice at quarter past six and my dad dropped me off in his shorts and slops! I had no clue” exclaimed Jared.

“I was sitting at the front, so I didn’t see anyone turn back because I’m looking and I’m intrigued about what they were saying [on stage] and I said I don’t want to look back because I don’t want to know who it is – and then they called it out and I was like, WAIT!” exclaimed Kiera.

“When I was in the hall… I saw the person in front of me, his name is Matthew, he looked around and looked back and he was just like,” recalled Ethan with wide eyes to demonstrate the look Matthew made with his face.
