Local organisation receives 200 bars of soap

COSMO CITY – Cosmo City organisation prepares youth for national shutdown.

Gabriel Ndlovu said goodbye to the learners who attended Sir Gabriel Centre for Excellence in Cosmo City before the national shutdown. The learners received bars of soap as well as informative workshops.

The centre, which was established to give youth in the area a safe place to play and be productive after school, received a donation of 210 bars of hygiene soap from Choice Butchery, located in Cosmo City shopping centre.

The after-school centre runs on weekdays for primary school learners and weekends for high school learners. This was in order for learners to receive help with their studies, for a monthly fee, which many learners have found themselves behind in payments for.

During the last workshop, attendees were visited by four community health workers from Cosmo City Clinic who held workshops which educated the learners on the pervasive coronavirus. This took place at the church which has been rented out by Ndlovu. Ndlovu did his best to keep the number of people in the premises within the guidelines set out by President Cyril Ramaphosa in his address to the nation.
