The youngsters at Blairgowrie Primary School have been sharing joy with the world during the lockdown by drawing rainbows and putting their drawings up on their home windows for everyone to see.
The school is involved in online learning currently, and a school-wide programme saw this initiative implemented to uplift the spirits of the community.”We want to show everyone there is still hope and things will get back to normal,” said teacher at the school and orchestrator of the programme, Beth Libby-Neale.”
Children want things to go back to the way things were and they want to feel good. It is great to see them on our video lessons, which helps lift their spirits.
“The teacher added that while the Coronavirus pandemic has been a tragedy, it has also seen community initiatives implemented that would not otherwise have existed. In this regard, the pandemic has brought people closer together.School principal, Pat Oosthuizen explained that the learners were busy with online learning through the Class Dojo app, and has programmes for every grade and class.

“I am so proud of the work teachers have been producing for the children, and I am also proud of how the parents have received the work and interacted with theirchildren during this time,” Oosthuizen said.
