Covid-19: Cases reach 636 884, while recoveries maintain at 88%

The recovery rate continues to rise, with 561 204 people having now recovered from the virus, according to the Department of Health.

A further 101 people have lost their lives to Covid-19, bringing the total number of deaths in South Africa to 14 779. Of the 101 deaths, 45 were from KZN, 16 from Gauteng, 11 from the Eastern Cape, 19 from the Free State, and 10 from the Western Cape.

The recovery rate continues to rise though, with 561 204 people having now recovered from the virus, according to the Department of Health.

A total of 3 783 823 tests have been conducted to date, with 57 per cent conducted in the private sphere, and 43 per cent in the public sphere.
