Radley Private School principals share a few words

FERNDALE – Radley Private School principals bid farewell to the year that was.

Principals of Radley Private School Yulandi Noëth and Charne de Gouveia write:
As we reflect on this historic year and how it has impacted every member of society and all aspects of our lives, we are filled with pride at how the extended Raizcorp Private School family rose to the challenge of keeping the educational wheels turning.

Our teachers and our learners were able to make a quick transition to remote learning at the beginning of lockdown. Our parents were very supportive, making arrangements to share devices between family members so that we could continue working through the curriculum largely as planned.
We feel blessed that we managed to complete the curriculum this year. That said, we were very grateful when lockdown restrictions eased and we were able to return to our campuses (we all missed the face-to-face interactions and energy of being at the school).

We are very grateful to the teachers at both our high school and primary school who have had very little holiday time over the year, particularly our matric educators who have gone above and beyond to prepare our matric class for their final examinations. Our matric learners have missed out on so many rites of passage this year but I know that they will do us proud.

As we head into 2021, we will take many lessons with us – not least that of being ready for anything and everything. As a school that offers an entrepreneurial education, we have embraced an important quality shared by many successful businesspeople – the ability to pivot and adjust quickly when faced with challenges.
