Two shot during Cosmo City supermarket robbery

COSMO CITY – A popular supermarket and cellular store in Cosmo City were robbed by nine armed suspects on 10 February.

The Honeydew Police are appealing to the public for information on suspects after a popular supermarket and cellular store in Cosmo City were robbed by nine armed suspects on 10 February.

Two victims were shot during the incident.
Honeydew police spokesperson Captain Balan Muthan said, “Before entering the supermarket, three of the nine suspects entered a neighbouring cell phone store and proceeded to rob it while the other six suspects robbed the supermarket.”
He said that the suspects opened fire inside the supermarket, shooting two victims.

“One victim was shot in the arm, and the other was shot in the buttocks,” continued Muthan.
Both victims were stabilised on the scene and taken to Netcare Olivedale Hospital for further treatment.
“The suspects managed to flee the scene in three separate vehicles with an undisclosed amount of cash that was taken from the supermarket and the cell phone store,” said Muthan.

The Honeydew police are appealing to the public for any information on the suspects’ whereabouts, and all information can be provided anonymously.
