Stunning results for Hoërskool Randburg’s matric Class of 2020

PRESIDENT RIDGE – Hoërskool Randburg celebrated a pass rate of 100 per cent.


Hoërskool Randburg’s matric Class of 2020 made their way through their school’s gates one last time to collect their final matric results on 23 February.

The school celebrated a pass rate of 100 per cent, 249 distinctions and 99 per cent of learners qualified for further education studies. Twenty-four learners achieved an 80 per cent average.

Anya Simpson achieved nine distinctions while Pieter-Jan Bosman, Delien Düsselberg, and Albert Kirsten bagged eight. Hannah van Zyl, Samantha Novello, Amory Minnaar, Amica Human, Katryn Henn, and Amoré Vlok attained seven distinctions.

School principal Pieter Booysen said, “We have learners that came out with stunning results, and every learner and member of staff out-performed themselves this year despite the challenges Covid-19 threw at us. We are so thrilled that every learner passed, and our teachers were phenomenal.”

He added that within the space of two weeks, virtual classrooms were set up and ready for a conducive learning environment. “There is a big difference between teaching online versus teaching in a classroom. Learners had to work alone from home and had to engage with their teachers in a virtual environment, and this was a new skill that they needed to learn. This was a tremendous success.”

He concluded that he had the utmost admiration for the school’s staff and learners and wished every learner a prosperous future ahead.
