Founder’s Day celebrated by Blairgowrie primary learners

BLAIRGOWRIE – Learners at the BPS traded their school uniforms for the day, in favour of their Scout uniform.

Learners at Blairgowrie Primary School (BPS) recently celebrated Founder’s Day which is marked by Robert Baden-Powell’s birthday on 22 February. Baden-Powell was born in 1857 and was the first Chief Scout of the international Scout Movement.

Learners at the BPS traded their school uniforms for the day, in favour of their Scout uniform. This is a widespread tradition that permits learners to attend school in their Scout uniform for the day to pay homage to Founder’s Day.
