Car crashes into a tree in Olivedale

OLIVEDALE – A man sustained critical injuries and was transported by another emergency service to a nearby hospital for urgent care.

A man in his 40s was left critically on 23 May when his car crashed into a tree off Christo Avenue in Olivedale.

ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 7.20pm and found another service already in attendance. “A light motor vehicle was found against a tree on the side of the road. The male driver was trapped inside the car,” explained ER24’s communication officer Russel Meiring. “Rescue medics had to use specialised equipment to free the man from the vehicle.

“Once released, medics assessed the man and found that he had sustained numerous injuries and was in a critical condition,” he said.

The man was treated and provided advanced life support interventions before being transported by another service to a nearby hospital for urgent care.

Local authorities were on the scene for further investigations.
