#CrazySocks4Docs day

NORTH RIDING – Local school learners show their support for doctors fighting mental illnesses.


Along with all other Curro schools, Northriding College participated in the #CrazySocks4Docs day.

Learners dressed in their craziest and mixed-matching socks to show their support, and raise awareness of the mental health of medical professionals.

This day is held worldwide on the first Friday of June each year.

It was started by Dr Geoff Toogood, a consultant cardiologist in Australia who suffered from anxiety and depression, and hopes to remove the stigma health professionals who suffer mental illness experience.

He also hopes to reduce the suicide rate among doctors.
